Pink Floyd songwriter Roger Waters wrote to Mark Zuckerberg during a press conference recently, announcing that the Facebook owner was offering a “huge, huge amount of money” to use the iconic song Another Brick In The Wall Part II in an advert for Instagram.
Speaking of an event to raise awareness about jailed WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, Waters noted the deep depth of Facebook wanting to buy and use a song that runs against ‘mind control’ and doesn’t thought obedience.
Water described the development as part of Zuckerberg’s “cunning move to cover it all.”
Water read the Facebook request, which said “We want to thank you for considering this project. We feel that the main sentiment of this song continues to prevail and is very much needed today, saying what you did not do.” the work is over. ”
“And yet, they want to use it to make Facebook and Instagram more powerful than ever,” Waters urged, adding “so that it continues to censor us all on this content and suppress this story about release of Julian Assange. the majority of the public so that the majority of the public can go, ‘What? No more.’ “
“So it was a missive from Mark Zuckerberg to me… that there was an offer of a large, large amount of money and the answer was, ‘f ** k you! No f ** king way!’,” The waters rose in loud applause.
“I’m not going to be a party to this bullsh-t, Zuckerberg,” Waters added.
He then asked “How is this little pr ** k, starting to go, ‘She’s beautiful, we’ll give her a four out of five. She’s ugly, we’ll give her one’… How did she get anything power over anything? ”
