About four dozen people were fully vaccinated New Jersey died from COVID-19, health officials said.
Forty-nine deaths among the population have been recorded since December 2020, the New Jersey Department of Health confirmed to The Epoch Times.
About 5,300 people who did not get the vaccine also died with COVID-19.
The 49 deaths came from a pool of 4.8 million residents who got a vaccine, making the death toll slightly more than one in 100,000 who were fully vaccinated.
“That means the vaccines are about 99.999 percent effective in preventing death due to COVID-19,” Drs. Ed Lifshitz, medical director of the department’s Communicable Disease Service, in an emailed statement.
As of July 12, nearly half of the people who died having been vaccinated had a pre -existing condition such as heart disease, diabetes, or cancer.
Fully vaccinated means people who have received the same dose of Pfizer or Moderna or the single-shot Johnson & Johnson jab. – READ MORE
