Three major U.S. cinema chains have announced that masks will no longer be necessary for people fully vaccinated against COVID-19, while launching the vaccine and also opening up plans to march across the country. AMC, Cinemark, and Regal Cinemas on Friday said those who go to the movies are not fully vaccinated and are asked to continue wearing a mask. Read the AMC website: (quote) the masks for fully vaccinated guests. If you are not fully vaccinated, we ask that you continue to wear a mask at the cinema unless you are actively enjoying food or drink. ”The same mask policy updates were made on the Regal and Cinemark websites. All three chains say they follow state and local mandates on wearing the mask, which may differ from CDC guidelines. Other measures away from social and cleaning protocols will remain in place. The move comes about two weeks after the CDC said Fully vaccinated people can avoid wearing an indoor mask in many places. The U.S. move began after a long shutdown and lack of new film releases.
