Do you have to wear a mask in California?

Starting June 15, California updated the mask mandate and created different rules for vaccinated and non-vaccinated.

People who were fully vaccinated were allowed to do everything they did before the pandemic started without having to wear a mask.

Including drinking at a bar, going to church, going to the gym and shopping.

There are very few people where vaccinated people must wear their masks and that includes hospitals, prisons, homeless shelters, and while traveling.

If you have not been vaccinated you are required to wear a mask in all indoor public places.

How do businesses know if someone is vaccinated or not?

There is no way to tell a business if someone has been vaccinated or. not.

The Secretary of Health and Human Services Dr. Mark Ghaly said ABC News that businesses have three ways to know:

  • The person is required to wear a mask
  • Implement a statewide vaccine certification system
  • Allow Californians to “prove to themselves” that they received the vaccine

Are there travel restrictions in the California area?

It is recommended that people delay unnecessary travel until they have been fully vaccinated.
