With the start of the pandemic in 2020, cruise ships were at the center of the Covid hurricane. Ports were closed to ships hit by the virus and cases aboard.

However, the multi-billion dollar industry is showing signs of recovery.

The EU Digital Covid Certificate – a “vaccine vaccine” that will speed up internal travel within the block – is expected to take effect on 1 July.
