In an email in February 2020 between Drs. Anthony Fauci and former Obama health and human services (HHS) secretary Sylvia Burwell, the nation’s top infectious disease expert. said that store-bought face masks are less effective in protecting one against COVID-19 – an opinion he maintained at least until March last year.
I have enough to remember when Dr. Fauci went on to 60 Minutes in March 2020 and said, “Now in the United States, people shouldn’t walk around with a mask.… There’s no reason to walk around with a mask.” https://t.co/CpBukP9gFB pic.twitter.com/T9xOCXHeSm

There are hundreds of pages of emails retrieved Washington Post and BuzzFeed through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Fauci was asked about the masks of former Obama Secretary of Health and Human Services Sylvia Burwell.
“I will travel to [redacted]. People suggested I get a mask for the airport. Is this what I need to do, ”Burwell asked.
To which Fauci replied: “Masks are really for infected people to prevent them from spreading the infection to uninfected people rather than to protect uninfected people from getting the infection. The typical mask you buy at the drug store is never effective in preventing the virus, which is small enough to pass the material.. However, it can provide little benefit to avoid severe three drops if you have a cough or sneeze. ”
“I don’t recommend that you wear a mask, especially if you are going to a short -sighted danger location. ”

Fauci’s original opinion on masks turned out right, say multiple analyzes – including CDC’s own data – showed that mask mandate (and double masking) has almost no effect on the spread of the virus, felt in the sentiment of primary epidemiologists.
What else the US government know the masks will not work, as confirmed in this March 31, 2020 email from NIH Medical Officer Andrea Lerner:
However, in April, the World Health Organization and NIH came out in favor of masking – to the point that Fauci changed his opinion. As reporters John Ziegler and Kyle Becker know, the move may have given people a false sense of security.
It’s 100% correct. People wear * INSTEAD * masks to get away from socializing and hand washing. They give people false assurance. It shows me that they are a political statement like anything, an anti-Trump ribbon you wear on your face, if you will.https://t.co/tqOelSHYKv

So it’s all a work…
