Australian striker David Warner is on the last day of his quarantine at a Sydney hotel and is awaiting reunion with his wife and children as well. Warner returned home earlier this month from India where he was playing IPL 2021 which has been suspended in the middle of the season due to coronavirus.
In an Instagram post, Warner wrote, “14th day of quarantine, one to sleep,” along with a collage of his family.
Australians were repatriated to the BCCI home via the Maldives and Warner’s wife Candice said she was relieved to have her husband back home safely considering India’s coronavirus status.
“He returned to the land of his birth with the rest of the boys [cricketers] who went to India and we were very lucky that he was able to return to our coast, ”he said The Morning Show early this week.
‘It’s hard but even more so for my daughters, who are now at the age where they can feel and understand what’s going on. I think they kind of don’t know the situation but if they see things in the news or parents at school come in asking how their father is or how David is, I think that’s really hard for us, ”He added.
Warner has become active on social media with his regular updates and funny deepfake clips. On Sunday, on the fifth anniversary of her IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad winning their title maiden, she shared several photos of her Insta stories from the title celebrations.
However, that 2016 season seems a long way off considering how Warner handles this season in the IPL. In SRH’s struggles on all fronts, Australia’s biggest hit, seemingly untouched at one point, fell not only as team captain but also from playing 11 as well.
SRH suffered at the bottom of the standings with just one win from seven games when the season was suspended.
