Centers for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC) rescheduled an emergency meeting after the heart inflammation vaccination seen among Americans, especially young people, due to a new federal holiday.
President Joe Biden signed a law on Thursday make June 19 a new holiday, Eleventh one. Shortly afterwards, the CDC said their June 18 meeting was “postponed due to the observance of the eleventh National Independence Day holiday.”
A federal office said Thursday that because June 19 falls on a Saturday this year, the observation will be made on Friday.
The meeting, that is considered an emergency when announced last week, will now fold into a June 23 to June 25 virtual meeting, according to the CDC.
The agency did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
