Based in Dallas Southwest Airlines ignores a Texas Executive Order prohibiting any entity from enforcing Covid-19 vaccine orders to employees or customers.
However, the troubled airline will comply with Biden’s pre -issued federal order requiring government employees and contractors to be vaccinated, CEO Gary Kelly said in an interview Tuesday. CNBC.
“I’m not really in favor of corporations imposing that kind of mandate. I’m not in favor of that. Absolutely not, “Kelly said in” Squawk on the Street, “adding”But the executive order from President Biden decreed that all federal employees and after all all federal contractors, comprising all major airlines, should have [vaccine] mandate in place on Dec. 8, so we did that. ”

In addition to federal workers and contractors, President Biden announced a mandate last month requiring companies with 100 or more employees to ensure their workers are vaccinated or tested regularly. The Labor Department has not yet released details of the emergency rule, although Biden urged companies to ‘act now’ and not wait for implementation as needed.
Another lie. There is no mandated federal vaccine. No executive order, no federal regulation. This is a press release. https://t.co/6Uub9qDSMO

In response, Texas Governor Greg Abbott releases a executive order on Monday prohibiting any entity – including private businesses, from imposing vaccination orders on any employee or customer.
“The COVID-19 vaccine is safe, effective, and the most effective defense against the virus, but must remain voluntary and not forced,” Abbott said in a statement. The rule follows several executive orders issued by Abbott over the summer banning local governments and school districts from mask or vaccination mandates – with a $ 1,000 fine for those who fail to comply.
Last week, Southwest announced that 56,000 of its workers would have to be fully vaccinated with the Covid -19 jab by Dec. 8 to continue working – an announcement that came days after other carriers (including American Airlines, Alaska Airlines and JetBlue Announced Airways) are taking similar steps, according to CNBC.
Doubling the airline’s claim that widespread flight breakdowns over the past four days had nothing to do with a mandate employee’s protest, Kelly blamed “absenteeism.”

We can’t believe CNBC didn’t ask Kelly, if that’s true, where this flag comes from.
The photo of this was just sent to me by a grounded Southwest plane flying a Gadsden flag from the cockpit. Hero Pilots of Southwest and other Airlines deserve our support. True patriots worthy of the American Freedom Fighter tradition.
