NEW CASTLE, Pa.. (KDKA) – Police say the prom at New Castle High School was put on lockdown after threats.
On Friday, the New Castle Police Department said it had received “information about a possible threat to students and schools.” Law enforcement said they talked to the man on the phone, and they repeated the threats.
“A determination was made at that time that the threats were credible,” according to a police release.
Police said that during their investigation, the man who made the threats was in high school, which at the time was hosting its prom. The school was put on lockdown and officials transported visitors and students to their vehicles.
“The NCPD is actively investigating this incident and is trying to find the individual responsible for the threats,” police released.
