The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will hold a virtual celebration marking its 70th anniversary Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) program. From the threat of biological warfare in the 1950s to the COVID -19 pandemic today, CDC EIS officials – better known as the CDC’s elite “disease detectives” – serve as the main line of public investigations. of threats in the United States and around the world
